OGDEN — All I knew going in was that this was a musical that had a lot of Italian. Forget about enjoying the story and learning new melodies. I was scared I wouldn’t understand even the most basic storyline despite convincing myself that 8 years of Spanish would help. It didn’t, but it didn’t need to. The theatre department at Weber State University made me fall in love with The Light in the Piazza. That’s the simple truth of it.

When you do stumble into an old movie theatre, civic center, or warehouse and discover Utah theater at the grassroots level I guarantee you’re going to find a little unexpected magic.
SALT LAKE CITY — Last night I had the privilege to attend opening night of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” performed by the Youth Stage at The Children’s Theatre. What certainly could have been an amateur and trite evening at the theatre proved to be another reason why The Children’s Theatre is quickly becoming one of my favorite stages in Salt Lake City.
